You mean, a solution for politicians and bureau-rats? They are a fat soluble organic compound. I think you can get reasonably good results dissolving them in ten percent nitric acid, if that's what you mean. Your mileage (and solution) may vary.

If you mean do I have a substitute for the shifting sands of expedience, then the answer is yes, I do. The solid bedrock of principle.

For my own part, I am building a stairway to the planets and star systems of the universe. Therefore I am not able to build upon the shifting sands of expedience. The difficulties of building any long term structure amidst the interminable and incoherent political change has caused some to cloister themselves in the groves of academe and others to cloister themselves in the cloisters of religion. And still very little progress toward the human settlement of the Solar system has been made.

The path forward has been understood for well over 2,500 years. When mankind are prepared to give up the ring of power, it will cease to corrupt their spirits.

That's the root of the issue - the claim is that there'd be fewer dead people with a war than without, or at least fewer dead people amongst those that the person it's being "sold" to cares about. All the fast talk and bullshit attempts to get around that falsity.

The thing that gets me is that it's all so disingenuous. To say that war is profitable is to imply that there is some kind of net productivity, which is of course laughable. War, inexplicably, is murder, by proxy, as an excuse to steal. The tax money paid to these weapons dealers and their shareholders is not money traded for value, it is money forcibly confiscated from one group and given to another by a third group on threat from a fourth. War is the excuse that pacifies the former group sufficiently to make the confiscation gainful on such a large scale. Without the war, they'd have to go to war with the people they intended to confiscate money from, as those people would resist; in resisting, they'd cost the war-makers more than the war-makers could hope to recoup. So some third party has to be brought into the mix, who, the war-maker hopes, is both less expensive to murder and frightening enough to the first party that the first party will surrender more property than if the third party were excluded.

"They're going to kill you unless you give us money so we can kill them, and if you don't give us money to give to people who make weapons we also intend to kill you and neglect to kill them, so in total you can have two groups trying to kill you, or you can have both groups trying to kill each other while one group tries to kill you as well and someone else takes your property." That pretty much sums it up. A whirlwind of fast-talk - it's no surprise that most can't keep up with it. The grifter's false dichotomy, presented with urgency so the victim doesn't have time to consider a third option.

Yes, sophisticated, like you. lol

Of course, you would never do anything to war criminals because you love war. You are a violent person but you are too much of a pussy to do any violence yourself. So you sit in front of your computer moaning about what other people write. And you vote for and pay taxes so that politicians can send young men and women to foreign countries to slaughter children in your name. Right?

"Feel free to harass these people if it suits your mood. Egging their homes, keying their cards, the burning poo in a bag trick. If it is a wood house, maybe it would burn. They certainly burned a lot of family homes in Iraq and Afghanistan. Call them baby killers."

Bags of poo? Keying cars? Suggesting to burn someone's home!? Very sophisticated. Good thing you guys are huuuuuge pussies.

I wonder if his home is here:
4 Leaf Tower #5110
Houston, TX

Whitepages.com has the resident there in the right age range. Isn't it fun how easy it is to find information on people?

Be nice, though. Candle light vigils you know. Don't upset his family.

Here are more executives of Halliburton, for example.

Excellent post, Jim.

It's true that not as many US soldiers are dying in Afghanistan as died in Vietnam. But the number of soldiers coming home with brain damage, PTSD, with drug and alcohol addictions, the number of soldiers who end up killing themselves, etc. -- these numbers are all astounding. If more people knew about this side of the war, then there'd be more of a push to bring our troops home.
